What does it mean to draw the circle wide in your community, taking steps toward those considered “other” and exploring the building of relationships through the common-ground spiritual practice of the labyrinth?

Led by Veriditas Master Teacher Rev. Dr. Kay Mutert, this workshop will focus on the ways the labyrinth has a bridge building and reconciling role in our communities - many of which reflect division, polarity and a lack of understanding of one another. We’ll explore a variety of communities and groups in which the labyrinth plays an important role in building and sustaining healthy community. The workshop will include introduction to the labyrinth, small group discussion, creative reflection, and  labyrinth walking. This can be taken as a stand-alone day for those already trained, and also serves as a qualifying workshop for those who wish to become trained Veriditas labyrinth facilitators.

Fee includes tuition, lunch and tea. Does not include accommodation, breakfast or dinner.

The Reverend Dr. Kay Mutert

Veriditas Faculty member Rev. Dr. Kay Mutert leads labyrinth workshops in awakening new creative energy, community building, and spiritual transformation.   Her Master Teacher responsibilities include training new facilitators and renewal training for those trained in past years. She works with organizations to establish labyrinth communities, to hear the hopes of a setting and translate that into an ongoing vision. In her workshops and trainings she invites participants to discover and develop their own gifts and skills, and to build community.

Following an extended time of work with all ages in education and music, Kay then served as a minister in the United Methodist and British Methodist churches. When she left her local church ministry Kay created "DaySpring - a source of creative expression and renewal of spirit", as a conduit to work with a broader circle of community. Through her labyrinth work, she uses her experience as musician, teacher, minister, and spiritual accompanist with groups and individuals from diverse arenas of life, inviting them to discover the possibilities of the labyrinth in today’s world.
