Seeing the World with Wonder - Making Meaning Through Image, Story and the Labyrinth
with Catherine Anderson and Lauren Artress
Could your soul use some time to reflect in the awe-inspiring high desert landscape of Ghost Ranch, New Mexico?
Join us for a soul nourishing experience in the grandeur of the landscape that so inspired the painter, Georgia O’Keefe. This pilgrimage offers the opportunity to open both our physical eyes to the vast beauty of Ghost Ranch as well our spiritual “mind’s eye” that guides us to seek wisdom, beauty and meaning. Grounded by walking the labyrinth, deepened by story and coupled with the creative process of photography, we will explore what it means to cleanse the lens of perception to see the wonder of the world.
O’Keefe painted landscapes, flowers, shells and bones to express “the wideness and wonder of the world...” In this retreat, Catherine will guide us in to develop a connection with the magnificent landscape of New Mexico using your iPhone or digital camera. Through creative, mindful, and practical exercises we will deepen our ability to use the camera as an extension of the heart.
Lauren will guide us by telling wisdom stories to provide reflection upon the spiritual life. The majestic mountain labyrinth will be offered to honor our Path.
The following presentation provides an overview of the week:
Additional highlights of the week include evening walks on the Ghost Ranch labyrinth and a visit to some of the sites on the Ghost Ranch property that were painted by Georgia O’Keeffe, in her own artistic and spiritual exploration of the landscape.
Please join us on this journey to nourish your creative self.
New Mexico’s high desert awaits you.
