To mark the occasion of our 10th Veriditas Summer School, Lars Howlett has invited his mentor, Robert Ferré, to return for a Master Class in Labyrinth Making. This special three-day online workshop will outline advanced methods for designing and creating walkable labyrinths. Lars will detail and demonstrate double and triple spiral labyrinths including the Baltic Wheel, Wunderkreiss and Triskelion designs. Robert will reveal secrets of the Chartres Labyrinth and take us on a deep dive into the center rosette and lunations.

Learn about project management from consultation to design, fundraising to planning, and the realization of a shared vision. Hear insightful and inspiring stories from Robert’s work as Labyrinth Enterprises as well as anecdotes of working with clients, volunteers and ego. Lars and Robert will share case studies for creating beneficial and accessible labyrinth environments as well as options for maintenance and lessons from restoration.

Special guests will include labyrinth luminaries from around the world appearing by video for short talks. Workshop participants will deepen bonds with other makers through small group ‘cohorts’ forged around shared interests.

Robert Ferré was the first full-time labyrinth builder in the United States, beginning in 1995. He and his associates at Labyrinth Enterprises hand-built more than 1,000 labyrinths, both portable and permanent (plus temporary ones). He has written numerous books about labyrinth building as well as giving lectures and masterclasses. In the first training he gave for Veriditas, he met Lars Howlett, who served as Robert's apprentice before establishing his own place in the labyrinth world. Robert still makes the occasional labyrinth, enjoying retirement in San Antonio with his wife Linda Ricketts, working on writing projects and playing pickleball.

Lars Howlett is a leading expert in the design and creation of sacred space for walking meditation, centering prayer, personal healing, conflict resolution and community building. Lars is a practitioner of mindfulness and student of sacred geometry since 2003, experimenting with a wide variety of designs, materials, intentions and settings in his personal and professional projects. Lars was a three year apprentice to Robert Ferré, inheriting the tools, techniques, and teaching curriculum of a master builder. Lars is a Veriditas Faculty Member and Certified Labyrinth Facilitator trained by the Reverend Dr. Lauren Artress at Grace and Chartres Cathedrals. Visit http://www.DiscoverLabyrinths.com
