What You Need to Know

Dear Future Facilitator,

Thank you for you interest in Labyrinth Facilitator Training. Facilitating the labyrinth is a spiritual path and the training will be approached through this theme. As you consider this commitment, please note the following information and requirements.

Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator Training is comprised of three specific phases. Phase One involves attending a Pilgrimage weekend at Grace Cathedral, or a Theater of Enlightenment weekend (held at retreat centers across the country), or a Qualifying Labyrinth Workshop (these vary yearly), or a Labyrinth Week at the Golden Door, or attend one cycle (one week) of our program in Chartres, France (held prior to the Chartres facilitator training). The event attendance is required because it is an opportunity for you to experience an in-depth labyrinth retreat and to observe me facilitate the labyrinth, which serves as a small apprenticeship.

The weekend will prepare you to begin Phase Two, which is the actual two full days of facilitator training. The training will involve 16 hours of classroom work and may be attended at Grace Cathedral or at any of the various locations where we offer the training. A facilitator training will also follow the "Walking a Sacred Path" program in Chartres, France.

Phase Three, for those intending to become a Certified Labyrinth Facilitator, is to offer labyrinth presentations in your community. This may be in a church, a holistic retreat center, a school for the learning disabled, a retirement home, a spirituality group, or a variety of other settings. You will assemble a committee of at least three people to help you process your required labyrinth presentations. Preparation, presentation, and evaluation of three labyrinth presentations are required. You will have one year from the date of your training to complete the program. Upon completion of your presentations, you will submit all of your completed forms, preferably electronically, with an at least 3-page, in-depth, self reflective analysis of your experiences, together in one packet.

The Certification process is optional; however, our goal is to provide quality facilitators who will be able to introduce others to the labyrinth in a meaningful and effective manner, in a variety of settings in their community. Please be aware that not everyone who applies to the Facilitator Training course will be accepted and not all those enrolled will automatically be certified. As we review applications, we are looking for people who have an ongoing relationship with the labyrinth as a spiritual tool, experience leading small groups, and a vision of how they would like to use the labyrinth in their life's work.

The tuition for Labyrinth Facilitator Training is $600.00. This includes the two days of on-site training, class materials, one-year follow-up and guidance for Certification, and membership in the Facilitator Network. A $25 Administrative Fee is required when you submit your materials for certification.

The training sessions begin at 9:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM. Lunch is provided both days during the training, as well as a reception following the close of the first day's session. Evenings are reserved for personal time. Ideally, both a required program and Labyrinth Facilitator Training may be attended in one trip. Labyrinth Facilitator Training class is limited in size -- early application is advised.

The application for the Introductory Labyrinth Facilitator Training consists of completing and returning the following items:
