Hildegard of Bingen:
A Feather on the Breath of God

March 9 — 10

Facilitator Training, March 12 — 13

Hildegard of Bingen (1098 to 1179) lived her life in a 12-mile radius and yet her life fascinates us even today. Why? She understands direct experiences of the divine. Her theology is articulated through nature and she had to overcome immense difficulties to trust her creative impulses. Author of ten books, creator of the first opera, composer, Benedictine abbess, visionary, spiritual director for emperors, kings and troubled clergy, she was a woman of immense energy and creativity. She would stand along side the towering figure of Leonardo DiVinci had she not been a woman.

Join us for this pilgrimage weekend to learn about this fascinating woman. You will see her visions that she articulated for her artisans to create. We will explore excerpts of her letters, learn about what scholars call “the lost language of Hildegard” and see photos of the three convents she established.

CEUs available for this program.
