  • 07 Mar 2015
  • 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (EST)
  • Pasadena Community Church, 227 70th St. South, St. Petersburg, Florida

Registration

As Pasadena Community Church celebrates the completion of their new labyrinth, the church offers a special workshop on Saturday, March 7, 2015.

In the context of the new outdoor labyrinth, set near the rose garden, participants will prepare for the Lenten journey to Easter. As the community celebrates the completion of its new labyrinth, so the path becomes a part of the Lenten journey. Like the early Christians who went on pilgrimage, the labyrinth today offers us the pattern and practice of meditation and reflection for our journey to Holy Week and Easter. The workshop will present history and story of the labyrinth, reflect on the need for pilgrimage in today's life and will include experiences for personal and communal engagement.

The Saturday workshop will be preceded by a Friday evening meditation prayer service in the Chapel at 7:00 where all are welcome.

The workshop presenter is Reverend Dr. Kay Mutert, a Master Teacher with Veriditas, the worldwide labyrinth organization. As such, this workshop serves as a qualifying workshop for those interested in pursuing Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator Training. Kay is also a musician and retired United Methodist minister who is a former member of Pasadena Community Church and former choral director at St. Petersburg High School.  In fact, two of her sons were baptized in the Rose Garden.

Program will take place in the Life Enrichment Center classrooms 3 ABC.  (Lunch is included)
