WEBINAR: Storytelling as a Path of Transformation with Veriditas Master Teacher Jo Ann Mast

Human beings store a large amount of information in story format. Our memory is “story-based” a profoundly startling conclusion for a society that thinks the answer to every problem is more data.

Stories are fundamental to how we learn and organize what we know. We organize knowledge by storytelling. Stories address our fears and our joys, emotions we cannot articulate.

The human brain has a remarkable and outstanding skill for pattern recognition. Filed away in our memory, stories provide patterns that we can use for comparison with our experiences. The visual element of story becomes more important than the story itself. Today we can experience the labyrinth as a visual pattern, which becomes a portal for accessing our own stories often hidden deep within.

We’ll explore this and many other aspects of storytelling.
